Cecil John “Jack” BROWN – October 1, 2021   Long time volunteer at archives – assisted many visitors and responded to queries; researched, located (GPS) & recorded many farm burial sites, researched many families in Yonge Township. Photographed local rural schools. Extensive library. -head of history department at KCVI (Kingston). Enjoyed garage sales and hiking; great sense of humour.

Beverley Ann (Steck) CARR – January 21, 2022 – Managed branch website, always willing to help. Worked with her husband Fraser researching family history, loyalist history, local history. Raised a family in Prescott. Teacher. Organist and choir director at St. Paul’s United Church, Prescott.

Jack CARTER – September 18, 2004 – typed a number of our cemeteries for publication and indexed a number of branch library books. He lived in Spokane, Washington where he was a police chief; his family roots were in North Augusta. He indexed a number of branch library books.

Edgar CLOWCharter Member, Branch Treasurer, Research Committee – December 19, 2004 – researched history of Elizabethtown Township; researched and published Clow family history, researched history of Wall Street United Church. farmer, market gardener. Produced a radio program for Federation of Agriculture

Gladys Eleanor CLOW – July 2, 1997- contributed family history research to library, responsible for getting Lyn Church records for the branch

Natalie Kathleen (Lee) CLOW – October 12, 2008 – Branch assistant librarian, volunteered in archives, researched Clow family history; compiled Lyn Church records

Chester A.S. HARE – October 7, 2008 – He donated a collection of family history records; compiled marriage records and Augusta Township Census records. Chester wasborn in Lyn, ON; lived in Louisville, Kentucky; was an army WWII veteran.

Carolyn Knight (Watkins) HENDRY – December 8, 2006. Branch mail secretary, publicity; librarian and publication coordinator and mail person, assisted in cemetery recording, researched family history. Opened her home for collating the newsletter & publications & many other functions. Born in BC, WWII veteran (WRCNS). Pharmacist at Brockville General Hospital. Raised a family in Brockville, UELAC

George HENDRY – August 21, 2009 – Branch mail secretary. He researched Methodist history and family history. George worked as a printer, then at Automatic Electric; Served in army during WW2, shared stories at schools for Remembrance Day, Volunteered as a Big Brother.

Grant HOUGH – May 15, 1992- Branch Vice-Chair; family history research, lived in Augusta Township

Alice Mary (McGrath) HUGHES – July 29, 2011 Branch Secretary. did a great deal of research including cemeteries and family histories Alice was born in Eastons Corners area, taught school, UELAC

Myrtle JOHNSTON – January 10, 2023 – Charter member, Branch Council Chair (1980, 1992, 2005-2006), librarian, newsletter editor for 44 years, mail secretary, correspondence secretary, transcribed many cemeteries, research assistance with queries and archives, publication sales, dedicated worker in all branch activities, had great knowledge of our area and its families. UELAC.  Myrtle worked as an elementary school occasional teacher for many years.

Gloria (Ferguson) KENNEY – December 9, 2014 – Branch Secretary, compiled Leeds Country church histories.

Lorraine (Kinch) LATIMER – November 29, 2003 – researched and published family history, researched Grenville families; helped with cemetery transcriptions, newsletters, UELAC.

Edwin LIVINGSTONCharter Member – January 28, 2005 – Researched and published the history of the Livingstone family of Kitley Township. He assisted people with genealogy research. Several of his books were donated to the library. Served in the army, then worked at St. Lawrence College.

Mildred Ruth (Gray) LIVINGSTON – March 18, 2012. Branch chairperson (1974-1979).Charter Member.  Ed and Mildred lived in Toronto area, then retired near Prescott. Mildred taught two classes on genealogical research at St. Lawrence College, Brockville. The participants decided to start a genealogical group, with meetings held at Brockville Public Library. Mildred was the first chairperson of the group (1974-1979) and initiated the process of becoming a branch of OGS. She was an avid researcher of Leeds & Grenville families and published several family history research books.

Duncan William MacDONALD – November 15, 2006 – branch chairperson (1987-1991), publicity coordinator, assisted with printing branch publications, treasurer. He researched and published a great many family history and church records, mainly from Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Counties.

David MACKENZIE – October 4, 2018 – past president of OGS, branch chairperson (1999), branch research coordinator, publicity coordinator, researched queries, researched local families (Lehigh, …) Retired to Brockville from Eastern Townships, Quebec, where he was head of School District, then Hospitals. UELAC. Horticultural Society.

David MacDOWELL – February 2, 2008 – Branch secretary, auditor, researched family history.

Wilna Mary-Leone (Sibley) McFADDEN – February 8, 2009 – branch secretary; researched family history, worked on “Places of Worship” project. lived in North Augusta area; taught school.

Patrick Lynal “Pat” McGEE – January 2, 2001- program coordinator, equipment coordinator. Pat and Shirley donated many microfilm reels (church records). Pat worked in management with Toyota Canada.

Shirley Mary (Chisolm) McGEE – August 10, 1998 – researched many local families and collected information in large collection of binders which were donated to the branch.

Camilla Anne (Cox) METCALFE – March 26, 2001 – branch treasurer, involved in cemetery transcriptions and other branch activities.

Lawrence Daniel METCALFE – June 21, 2006 – refreshments coordinator, built first bookcase for the branch when the archives were located at Brockville Public Library.

Bill MILLER – April 6, 1983 – Charter Member, Publications Coordinator, Vice Chair, queries, indexing. Printed branch newsletter for many years, transcribed many cemeteries; researched and donated many microfilm reels of information on Leeds County families (known as “Bill Miller Collection”; also donated Athens Reporter on microfilm (1884-1960). Overseas during WW2, worked at Phillips Cables in Brockville. Lived in Athens. UELAC, Legion, Lions Club member.

Norma Jean (Willard) MOUG – February 16, 2015 – Charter Member, Branch Researcher, Branch Chairperson (1981-1982), program coordinator, book sales. Coordinator of 1871 census indexing project. Norma did a great deal of family history research, which was donated to the branch. She was a volunteer in branch archives and with Grenville County Historical Society. She grew up in Delta. She and her husband Alexander lived in Prescott where she worked for the town of Prescott.

John O’CONNOR – March 6, 2008 – branch council member, collected newspaper obituaries and placed them in binders for the library.

Miriam Evelyn (Forrester) “Mim” PATEL, 14 April 2007 – active in early Branch cemetery research, moved to Australia in the mid 1990s.

Albert Francis PERRIN – May 19, 2009 – donated Perrin family history books and book collection “On This Date – Recorder & Times”.

William Edgar “Bill” ROW – March 14, 2000 – publicity, publications coordinator, always involved in branch activities, did photography for the branch, acted as liaison with Brockville Museum, assisted in transcribing cemeteries.  Worked as a photographer.

Helen (Sturgeon) ROWSOME – February 7, 1989; Charter Member, Branch secretary. Helen did a great deal of family history research, which was donated to the branch. Taught at several local schools.

Sandra Anna May SHOULDICE – January 24, 2022 – Researched Grenville County history. Great sense of humour, always willing to help. UELAC St. Lawrence branch volunteer. Elementary teacher at Johnstown P.S.
